India entered the new millennium with the advent of the sub period of Jupiter in the main period of Venus on 2nd November 1999. The sub period of Jupiter will continue till 2nd July 2002.
Jupiter is the lord of the 8th house and lord of 11th house in the birth chart of India. Jupiter is located in the 6th house of India's chart.
The 8th house is connected with accidents, natural calamities, terrorism and death in a country's birth chart. The 6th house is connected with the working class, military establishment and public health. The 11th house is connected with parliament and legislation.
The winter session of the parliament witnessed passing off of important legislation like the Insurance Bill, a very important step in the reform process. This could be attributed to Jupiter's lordship of the 11th house.
The hijacking of the Indian Airlines plane and the subsequent release of hostages can also be attributed to Jupiter's sub period, with Mars - the lord of 12th house in India's birth chart adding to the trouble.
This positioning of the planets will probably lead to a spurt in our military and anti-terrorist activities during the year 2000. The Government will be extensively occupied in dealing with these terrorist activities and in responding to the proxy war with Pakistan, till May 2000. The Government will have to face serious trade union problems and labor unrest till then.
After June 2000, both Jupiter and Saturn will enter the ascendant of India's birth chart. This will usher in a glorious period for India, which will continue till 2003.
Between May 2002 and April 2003, India will initiate concrete steps to seek a permanent solution to the vexed problems of Kashmir and North East and India will achieve major success in her efforts.
Till 2003 we do not visualize any serious problems for the present Vajpayee government at the Center.
Financially, India will show tremendous economic growth and the bullish run in the stock market will continue till June 2001.
India's progress in I.T. and new technologies will continue till the year 2003 and this will have its obvious positive impact on India's export.
The budget for 2000 will reflect some bold initiative from the government, and will make people from different strata of society generally happy. The budget is likely to be pro reform and will definitely accelerate the country's economic growth.
Between July 2001 and July 2002, there is a possibility of a downtrend in the Indian stock market and a temporary recession in the economy. The economy and stock market will improve after March 2003, and this trend will continue till May 2004.
Indian sports, especially cricket, will not fare well till May 2000. However, India should perform well in sports after May 2000 and the wining streak, especially in cricket, will continue till May 2002.
India's relations with foreign countries will improve dramatically between April and June 2000. This will probably coincide with the visit of the US President, and India will finally agree to sign the CTBT. It is also likely that India will enter into some long strategic understanding with USA during this period.
