A wonderful tool developed by the Chinese system of Feng Shui is a grid called the Bagua that relates every area of the horizon. It is an octagon. And being octagonal shaped, can very easily be applied to or superimposed on a plot of land, a house, a room, or a piece of furniture.

The application of the Bagua is very simple and one should have a deep understanding about the front door to correctly recognize all eight areas of the apce/plot. If you live in a flat within a house or you just rent a room within a house, simply take the main door of your flat or room as being the entrance to which you align the Bagua.

1. The Journey (Career Area)
   This area represents not only what you do to earn money on a material level but also describes your path and purpose and opportunities. Cures if needed in this area improve career prospects and help one find direction in life with ease, flow and abundance.
2. Relationships (Marriage Area)
   The relationships area concerns your primary relationship with yourself, your mate/spouse, your family, friends, colleagues and people in general. If you are single and looking for a life partner, this is the area to concentrate on in your home or room. If you are already married, cures will help you keep your relationship energetic and everlasting. In general it can bring in harmony and positivity in any of the above relationships.
3. Elders (Family)
   This area refers to your ancestors, parents, superiors and influences. It is the foundation from which you operate, think and act either consciously or unconsciously. By enhancing this area of your home/room, you make significant contributions to improving dealings with parents and authority figures.
4. Wealth and Prosperity
   The wealth area of your home/room is to do with abundance in your life. It can be material possessions and money and also prosperity and blessings in many other forms. Boosting this area can increase affluence and is of key importance to business. Toilets/dustbins in this area could make success suffer.
5. Health area
   This area is connected to health and vitality. If you have chronic health problems, check that the center of each of your rooms is clean and clear.
6. Helpful Friends
   Offers of help will pour in when this area of your home is activated. It may be from family, friends, colleagues, or even strangers. Since you receive back according to what you give, this area is also associated with our own philanthropic acts.
7. Creativity
   This part of the Bagua concerns anything you create/or want or create. It is the best area in your home to nurture your children. A place to be enhanced to manifest anything from a new car to better writing for journalists and those in the field of media, advertisement/entertainment.
8. Inner Knowledge
   This area is associated with new learning, meditation and inner guidance. An ideal place to study or meditate. Enhancing this area will bring better studying, intuition and inner guidance from your Higher Self.
9. Fame
   This is the area to develop your charm, enhance your reputation in the world, have greater clarity in your life or even develop your spiritual potential. Anything that lights up your life and something you may be known for.
10. Missing Areas (negative space)
    If your home is a square, rectangle or symmetrical shaped the complete Bagua can be represented. If, however, it is irregular, one or more areas of the Bagua may be missing and this can crate challenges. Feng Shui cures can be used in missing areas to enhance any area in your life.
