Are you psychic?
Are you psychic? Yes, you are. Whether you are aware of it at a conscious level or not, you are psychic. Every human being has psychic abilities. Some of us develop these and some of us don’t. But these abilities do exist in all of us.
What does it mean to be psychic? Well, everything that relates to the sixth sense could be termed psychic, for psychic means of the psyche, and psyche means the mind. The mind belongs to a non-physical dimension, as we do too, for we are spirit, we are bodies of energy waves and vibration and light who exist in physical bodies to experience material consciousness. To be psychic is our birthright.
Clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, telepathy, psychometry, the ability to communicate with plants and animals, astral travel at will, the ability to make changes in the environment, the ability to will things to happen, all these can be termed as being psychic.
So where is the psychic realm? It is right here, but its vibratory frequency is at a different wavelength from that of material consciousness. Let me say this in a different way. If you are tuned in to say, Channel X in your television set, and are expecting to see programs of Channel Y, then you will be disappointed, right? Most human beings are tuned in to material realm consciousness, and in order to access the psychic realm, all one has to do is change one’s vibratory frequency. And the way to do that is simple. One simply allows one’s mind and body to relax totally. In total relaxation, or in meditation, one is no longer really aware of one’s physical body. The mundane problems of one’s life are no longer stressing and urgent and one is said to be in the alpha consciousness. At alpha, which is an altered state of consciousness, the brain cycles slow down, the pulse and heart rate slow down, and one is in the psychic realm. However, it does take a bit of practice to achieve this state of consciousness.
One of the easiest ways to reach the psychic realm is to meditate. Meditation can be dynamic as opposed to passive meditation, and this dynamic form of meditation can be a lot of fun, too. Before we can embark on any such form of meditation, however, we need to make certain preparations. Some people like to have soft non-intrusive music in the background, others like to light candles as a ritual, others prefer to have incense sticks burning. Meditation should preferably be done regularly, at the same time and in the same place if possible. Create a sacred space for this ritual, and keep this space reserved for your meditation.
